Jim Marshall
Jim Marshall is a Co-Founder of the 911 Training Institute with his sister, Deborah Achtenberg, and his wife, Linda Marshall. He currently serves as the CEO, strategically leading the organization in development of curriculum and resources to benefit the 9-1-1 industry. He is also an Instructor and Consultant, offering his facilitation experience in the classroom and consultation expertise to partnering agencies.

Jim is a licensed mental health professional specializing in development and delivery of innovative science-driven training, tools, and resources fostering optimal wellbeing of 9-1-1 professionals and their confident mastery of calls involving mental crises and suicide. He is partnering with the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch and Priority Dispatch Corporation in the development of protocol solutions advancing best practice in these call types.

Jim is co-editor of The Resilient 9-1-1 Professional: A Comprehensive Guide to Surviving & Thriving Together in the 9-1-1 Center and has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Emergency Dispatch. He is co-chair of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) Working Group that produced the NENA Standard to Protect the Wellbeing of 9-1-1 Professionals and served as the Chair/CEO of the 911 Wellness Foundation, a former non-profit organization devoted to advocacy in upholding dispatcher mental health and resilience. He was the recipient of the Presidential Award from NENA in 2020.

 
Jim's courses, presentations, pilot projects, and published works equip 9-1-1 professionals and their PSAP leaders to achieve optimal health and performance as people and organizations in the evolving 9-1-1 center.

Jim holds a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
