We recognize every first-responder, front-liners and leaders alike, as people created with great worth, doing extraordinary work that places them at great psychological risk, so they deserve extraordinary resources enabling them to meet the demands placed on them.   
 
We place the highest value on creating a learning environment that inspires first-responders to grow; and because of the high psychological intensity of our courses, we are devoted to creating emotionally safe classroom experiences in which courageous first-responders can choose to relate personally to the class material and to each other.
 
We value the intelligence and unique lived personal experience of each student in the classroom, from the newest to the most veteran first-responder. So no one "attends" our courses; each class member participates as a "co-teacher" who can make unique contributions to every discussion based on their own perspectives, expertise, curiosity, and desire to learn.
 
We value incorporating adult-learning activities into our training which invite students to activate critical-thinking skills fostering that dynamic, interactive co-teaching experience for all involved. ​​
 
And upon all these foundational values, we value each day of training as an opportunity for each student to experience life-changing growth in their professional identity, knowledge base, and in their personal well-being. We hope first-responders will experience major personal growth, if not transformation, each time we join them in the classroom. It may not always happen but we do our best to see that it can!
