Emergency Mental Health Dispatching + LifeBridges is a comprehensive curriculum in which participants will improve competence and confidence in managing calls involving mental health crises and those at risk of suicide. Class includes additional integrated resilience training, guided practicum experience, and a learning assessment.

Building LifeBridges to Suicide Callers

Core Concepts

When and how do you ask a caller if they are considering suicide? What do you do to strategically help the person shift from shutting down? The best answers to these questions are based on current suicidology principles that are customized to the role of 9-1-1 professionals. This course teaches core concepts to help 9-1-1 professionals identify and de-escalate difficult mental states that will help improve the caller’s ability to cooperate, ensuring a safe outcome for all involved.
